The Soldier Hollow Classic, the Sheepdog Championship and Festival, is a tradition in Midway, Utah. It is a great, unique event for the whole family.

The Sheepdog Championship brings sheepdogs and their handlers from all over the world. The course is set up on the mountain to make it easier for spectators to watch their skills.

Not only can you watch the competitors, you can also be entertained by splash dogs, wicked fast agility dogs, and the K9 Kings Flying Dog Show! There are other events and activities throughout the day to keep you entertained and busy.

  • water bottles
  • chairs/umbrella to watch the championship if desired (bleachers are also available for free)
  • snacks (food at food trucks and tents are available for purchase as well)

Giveaway: Heroes v. Villains Race & Games 2017

Heroes v. Villains Family Event
This is a sponsored post. Please refer to our disclosure statement.

Are you ready for the race and game of a life time? This event is for you! On Saturday, September 16 from 4-8 pm at the Electric Park at Thanksgiving Point (2300 N. Ashton Blvd., Lehi), the whole family can enjoy an evening of fun games, a 5K or a free 1K for kids, and more!

Ultradent Products, Inc., has wholeheartedly supported the Utah Food Bank for almost two decades! In the last nine years alone, the company and its employees have donated more than 1.5 million pounds of food! During company events, the founder and CEO of Ultradent, Dr. Dan Fischer, has been heard many times to say, “Eat up! This is America; no one should go hungry.” Employees of this Utah company wanted to embrace that sentiment and go one step farther to include their community in the fight against hunger. This is how the Heroes v Villains Family Event and Fundraiser came to be!

Roseman University of Health Science, Utah Valley University’s Department of Dental Hygiene, and other local organizations have joined Ultradent in sponsoring this fun family event. Participants who dress up as their favorite superhero or the meanest villain can receive the highest glory as the winner of the costume contest! They can also master the superhero obstacle course, reign supreme in soccer Olympics, and crush the challenges in the Frisbee golf course. The little ones can even race in the Kids 1k Hero Run!

But what is the main event? A 5k like no other: The Tower Battle 5k! People don’t even have to run to join in this event! Those who choose not to run can participate as a Destroyer! Here’s how it works:
Runners choose their team—hero or villain—and with every lap they complete, they will get the chance to deploy Destroyers who will fight to weaken the opposing team’s tower! The Destroyers’ choice of weapon? Water blasters, of course! It will be a battle to remember!

Tickets to participate in the challenges are available starting at $6, and pre-registration for the race registration is $21—which provides 20 meals to the Utah Food Bank! If you sign up for the race on-site, the cost is $30. Remember, all proceeds will be donated to the Utah Food Bank!

Join the event on Facebook to get updates, purchase tickets, and register for the 5k. Thank you for helping Ultradent fight hunger! No matter which team you choose to fight on—heroes or villains—you will be a hero to the Utah Food Bank and to Ultradent!

Sign up here to get information, pre-register, and learn more about the event. We’ll be there and can’t wait to see you all there!

Neighbor, Rent Your Space

Neiybor Self Storage

This post may contain affiliate links. Each time you purchase using our unique code or link, we receive a small portion of the sale at no cost to you.

Neighbor is an online marketplace that connects people with unused space to those
in need of storage. Launched last year, it offers storage 50% cheaper, on average, than
traditional self-storage and provides Utah homeowners a way to turn their unused space into extra monthly income. Hosts can bring in $20-200 a month depending on the size of their storage space.

The process of finding space involves a simple search from the main page of Neighbor that brings you directly to the listings available. You can then also move around the interactive Google map to see the other listings available in surrounding areas. Search, Reserve, and Connect. It’s that simple. These spaces are affordable, flexible, inexpensive, and safe as they are on somebody’s property where there are people typically around.

Tips for Renters:
● Search for storage locally and in the surrounding areas to find the most competitive price
● Communicate effectively with host once the reservation is placed

How to become a Host:
Anyone can become a host! All you need is an empty room, garage, RV pad, or shed. To begin, simply create a host profile, become verified, take high quality photos of your space, and then create a listing. When someone decides to rent your space you will be notified via email and provided with the next steps in being a successful host. Once your space is booked you connect with the renter to decide a good time to move in.

Tips for Hosts:
● Take photos of available space (we recommend you clean the space to make it look
appealing)
● Upload 3-5 photos of the space (photos taken on a phone should be done horizontally to
avoid having the image flip)
● Offer a good detailed description of the space
● Be responsive to renters
● Price your space competitively
● If you have enough space then consider listing multiple spaces of differing sizes

Most Demanded Space Size:
● 10×10 – $40-60
● Outdoor Vehicle/RV/Boat – $60-100 – Depending on Size
● Indoor Vehicle/RV/Boat – $80-150 – Depending on Size

Sign up now to host and rent your space or find a rental space perfect for your needs.

Portabella Burger Habit
The Portabella Burger.

The Habit Burger Grill is located in American Fork. The Habit provides fresh, made-to-order burgers, salads, sandwiches, and other delicious sides.

This is a sponsored post. Please refer to our disclosure statement.

The Habit Burger Grill is originally from California. Once it came here to Utah, it was a must-try. However, I didn’t end up loving it the first time I tried it. It wasn’t until about 5 years later that I went with a friend for lunch with our kids that I realized that I have been missing out on delicious burgers and food for 5 years!

The food made at The Habit is fresh and made-to-order. It usually takes less than 7 minutes for the food to be ready but it’s definitely no 1-minute wait time. I don’t mind the few-minute wait time because I know my food wasn’t made beforehand and sitting under heat lamps waiting for me to order it.

The Habit doesn’t just serve up burgers and fries. They also have sandwiches, salads, and a few other side items such as tempura green beans. I love my veggies deep friend and these green beans are no exception! I also love their onion rings because the onion doesn’t normally slide out when you take a bite leaving you with a mouth full of onion and their sweet potato fries are good every time.

The last time we went to The Habit, they also had a new drink, a Peach & Ginger Nectar. It sounded like something I wouldn’t like as I don’t like ginger much but this drink was perfectly sweet and delicious. I might have to stop in just for the drink!

Fun Facts:

    • safe for children & pregnancy
    • dentist recommended
    • typically see results in 1-2 weeks

Are you one that normally uses teeth whitening strips? You know how sensitive your teeth can be for the next few days after using them? This toothpaste is doing a wonderful job of not making teeth as sensitive after using it.

Star Lash Studio, Lash Extensions Discount

Star Lash Studio lash extensions

If you are looking for lash extensions, I’d recommend Star Lash Studio.

I’ve been going to them since last year. My lash lady is Jenny but I’ve heard good things about anyone there. We talked more about the lash studio here last year.

To get a discount, all you need to do is mention “Utah Moms.” When mentioning Utah Moms, you’ll get:

  • $20 off of a full set
  • $10 off of a fill

What I’ve really loved about Star Lash Studio is that they make booking simple by just calling your favorite location. The space is clean where they are working which always feels good. Also, my lashes always last longer than they do from other lash people. It is worth it to pay for lashes when I know they will look good longer.

You can find Star Lash Studio in Shops at South Towne, Fashion Place Mall, and Layton Hills Mall.
