Featuring
Taylor Mason
Taylor Mason’s quick wit, flawless delivery & polished material make him a hit with audiences of all ages. He is a ventriloquist, musician & stand-up comedian.

It’s impossible to put Taylor Mason in a box. You cannot define his audience, because his act transcends demographics and niches. It’s a throwback and yet it’s contemporary. He’s inclusive, he’s genuinely interested in his audience and he’s 100% committed to every performance, every project, and every single job he takes.
There is no way to describe what he does, because combining ventriloquism, music and comedy is unique to Taylor Mason and quite literally needs to be seen to be believed. Google “Taylor Mason” and view hundreds of videos, some home-made, some taken from countless television and DVD projects, that continue to add up, including “Thou Shalt Laugh V.”

His latest adventure is a new variety show featuring family friendly adventures of one certainly terrific star puppet named ChildrenTalk, a comically curiously natured co-host will star along with actor and ventriloquist Taylor Mason.
This is not the kind of act that draws media attention or big-time television sitcom deals or lucrative movie offers. Taylor Mason stays out of the bedroom and out of the bathroom (which sets him apart from most comedy acts today) and concentrates on jokes and punch lines. He respects people’s differences and concentrates on getting laughs. He gives great effort every time he takes the stage.
Does it sound old school? Only if music, laughter and the shared experience of sheer joy and excitement are out-of-date. For Taylor Mason these are calling cards as a comedian, and the pillars on which he has built an outstanding, consistent and truly American career as an entertainer.

Splash Pads in Utah County

0

I never knew what a splash pad was until a couple of years ago and I have fallen in love with them. The public ones are usually open during normal outdoor pool times, so between Memorial Day and Labor Day, but they’re almost all free! A splash pad is an area where water comes out of the ground, sort of like sprinklers, and has drains on the ground so the water never accumulates.

Here are the free (unless otherwise noted) splash pads and addresses in Utah County. To see a specific splash pad in more detail, including pictures, click “review.”

  • Alpine Splash Pad: 100 S. 600 E., Alpine – REVIEW
  • Eagle Mountain: Nolan Park, corner of Tinamous Road and Peregrine Road, Eagle Mountain – REVIEW
  • Pioneer Park Splash Pad in Provo: 500 W. Center Street, Provo – REVIEW
  • Provo Splash Pad: 500 W. 500 N., Provo (FEE for entrance)
  • Shops at the Riverwoods: 4801 N. University Avenue, Provo – REVIEW
  • Spanish Fork Splash Pad: North Park, 1185 North 400 East, Spanish Fork – REVIEW
  • Springville Splash Pad: Water feature is located between Springville Civic Center and Springville Fire Station at approximately 50 South Main Street – REVIEW

Utah Valley Moms has a “Splash Pad Series” which will cover pros and cons to each splash pad and will include photos of the place. Click “Review” next to the splash pad name and address to see the series review. If you have any splash pads that you would like to add to our list, please contact us.

Summer Child Nutrition Program 2013

0

I have been impressed as I have followed Provo School District’s ITSMeals at how well-rounded and kid-friendly their meals have been this past school year. They make uninteresting food interesting and have had quite a few creative displays!

To continue with their good nutrition, the Provo City School District Summer Child Nutrition Program begins June 3rd.

This is a great opportunity for children to enjoy nutritious meals during the summer. Those who don’t have enough to eat at home won’t be going hungry when school gets out.

“Our summer meal program is a building block in the community for healthy, happy children who are ready to learn.” -Keith Rittel

Children 18 years and younger get breakfast and lunch for free. The meal must be eaten in the school cafeteria. Their parents may purchase a meal; breakfast costs $2 and lunch is $3. The menu may change depending on product availability.

Each school will serve Monday through Thursday, excepting July 4. Breakfast is served from 8 to 9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

• Timpanogos Elementary School, 449 N. 500 West; running June 3-July 11.

• Franklin Elementary School, 355 S. 700 West; running June 3-July 23.

• Provo Peaks Elementary School, 665 E. Center St.; running June 3-July 11.

• Spring Creek Elementary School, 1740 S. Nevada Ave.; running June 3-June 27.

Transport Open Site (limited amount of meals available):

• Independence High School. 636 N. Independence Way; June 3-27. Breakfast is not served at this location, and lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to noon.

Funding comes from a federally-funded program through the USDA. All children, no matter where they live or if they are currently go to school can eat for free.

Additional information can be found https://www.facebook.com/ITSMealsProvo. All information on this blog post was taken from the Provo Insider.
