This year Christmas In Color in Utah is located at Provo Towne Center Mall and at the Equestrian Center in South Jordan. It is a dancing light and music display. You get to sit in the comfort of your own car and drive through the display.

Load up your friends and family into the van (or car, or truck) and experience Christmas like never before. Drive through acres of more than 1.5 million lights perfectly synchronized to holiday music you’ll hear right through your radio. You’ll drive by giant candy canes, snowmen, arched pathways and more. It’s like being immersed in another world. In fact, we won’t judge you if you join the kids with your face pressed against the window.

This is the second year we’ve enjoyed Christmas In Color. Last year it was at the Utah Lake State Park and we really enjoyed that location because there was no one else around. It felt like a fun, secret location that only we knew about (and all the other cars around us, ha ha). This year they moved to the Provo mall parking lot. It is easily accessible but I can imagine that the parking lot can get really busy at times, making it a little more frustrating to get to the location.

The unfortunate thing about this year’s location is that there are cars and people all over the place. It drew away from the experience and didn’t feel as cozy as the Utah Lake location.

The positive, however, is that the kids loved it. We turned the music up in our cars, rolled the windows down, and the kids stood up (in our SUV) as we very slowly rolled through the lights. We sang, the kids yelled out the window out of pure joy, and they loved all the dancing lights.

The average is about 15-20 minutes to go through the lights. With more cars it can take longer, with fewer cars, we tended to go through it pretty fast.

I would recommend loading up your family and friends in a larger SUV or even the bed of a truck. The price is per car, not per person, so take advantage and use up your space! I have heard plenty of complaints about how expensive it is, however, when you take the total, $20 per vehicle with the discount below, and you divide it among the people that are in your car, it comes out to a reasonable price. Our car holds 5 and we could have loaded at least 5 more adults/kids into the front and back part of our small SUV which would have made it $4 per person with the 5 of us, $2 per person if we had squeezed more people in.

Is it worth the price? In my opinion, especially per person, yes. It is not something I would do more than once a season, although I would drive to the other location, but it is a fun family activity. I enjoy seeing holiday light but I would much prefer to enjoy it from the comfort of my car with heat. I enjoyed the lights and music and the experience.

The light of their innocence will go out. What if we could change this? What if we could save 300,000 children? What if one was your child?

Is your child’s light #WorthDefending?

Join us Monday, December 4, 2017, as families all over the world light luminarias to represent the children in their life whose lights are #WorthDefending as part of the A Light #WorthDefending program. Local residents are invited to join us in Lehi, Utah, as we create a massive, FREE luminaria display filled with the names of local children whose loved
ones are committed to defending childhood. Come add your child’s name to a luminaria, or bring your own to add to the display, and show your children that they matter to you. Instructions available at defendinnocence.org/luminaria. Those unable to attend can participate by placing luminarias outside their home or business on December 4, taking a picture, and uploading it to social media with the hashtag #WorthDefending.

Everyone is welcome to walk through the luminaria display and enjoy free cookies and hot chocolate.

The lighting of the Riverwoods will happen on November 17, 2017 from 5:30-9 pm.  Santa Claus and other special guests will be in attendance.

This event is one of the best of the year from the Shops at Riverwoods. This is a free entrance event with free activities, usually a petting zoo area, fireworks, and performances.

If there are two things I really love in life, it’s family time and games. I’m competitive so I could play games all day long because I need to win. Luckily Good Move Cafe satisfies those cravings.

Recently I stopped by Good Move Cafe with my son for a lunch date. We ordered a plate of fries, drinks, and played games. It was such a fun couple of hours.

Good Move Cafe offers menu items, as well as games. The food all looks delicious and the fries were perfectly fried. There is an extra charge to play games but it is a pretty great date night, friends night out, or just something different to do. Good Move Cafe has something like over 600 games and as it’s brand new, most of the games still look really new and clean which is fun to play new games.

Good Move Cafe has some different seating options. You can sit at a normal restaurant table to enjoy your food and/or game or you can enjoy your game in a little comfortable section. Some sections have chairs, some sections have couches. It’s such a great, relaxing atmosphere!

On Saturday, November 4, Good Move Cafe is hosting their Grand Opening Event! Mention “Utah Valley Moms” to get a free drink at the event!

In addition, experience the sisterly love that has captivated millions as Disney’s Frozen is brought to life on the icy stage. Disney On Ice presents Dream Big is playing the Vivint Smart Home Arena from November 16th– 19th.

 

Audiences will be transported to a world where imaginations soar and anything can happen. Through enchanted pixie-dust, Tinker Bell takes audiences on a journey of beloved Disney tales. Make a splash with the fearless dreamer Ariel as she yearns to explore life above the waves. Watch Rapunzel, Cinderella and Belle as they learn about the power to make their own magic. Travel to the wintry world of Arendelle with sisters Anna and Elsa and the hilarious snowman Olaf from Disney’s Frozen as they learn that true love is the greatest magic of all. Okay, enough hyperbole. From now until November 8, 2017, Best Company, the place where I work, is donating $2 for every review generated through its website (BestCompany.com) to Operation Underground Railroad.  Now let me see if I can answer a few questions you might have: Who? What? Why? How?

Who?
