The Grill at Cedar Hills

The Grill at Cedar Hills is one of our favorite little not-as-well-known restaurants. It is located at the Cedar Hills Clubhouse at 10640 Clubhouse Drive, Cedar Hills.

We often go there for lunch or will make the drive to visit for a family dinner. I enjoy their Mushroom Swiss Burger but I’ve heard that most foods are really good. If you are looking for a great discount, get $20 worth of food for only $10!

Kids Day at McCoard’s Garden Center

0
McCoard's Garden Center, Provo, Utah

Recently I went to visit McCoard’s Garden Center in Provo.

McCoard’s Garden was taken over many years ago by a local woman who has a love for gardening. It began with house plants but over time has become a garden center for the public with indoor and outdoor plants.

On Saturday, June 25, McCoard’s will hold an event for children! During their regular hours between 9 am and 6 pm, children (12 and under) have the opportunity to visit the garden center. For only $5 per child, each child will be able to choose their own brightly-colored flower pot, fill it with soil, and add 2 annuals to it to take home. It is a great opportunity to allow the kids to have their own flowers to take care of.

GIVEAWAY

If you want to win one for one of your children, enter on our Instagram account.

When we had the opportunity to visit the McCoard’s Garden Center, it was amazing how relaxing it was. It was a very warm day but after rushing around all morning, it was nice to wander around the tables and relax for a while. The kids were even mostly calm and enjoying our walk around the garden center.

We ended up buying a huge strawberry hanging planter full of strawberries already (as we’re a little late in the season) and some melon plants to replace the ones that got eaten up in our garden by aphids. Our plants have been home for a few days and are growing well.

Currently there are some great deals going on: Dahlia Days are 30% Off (4″, 6″ and 8″ pots) and 25% Off All Planters. All Hanging Baskets are now 50% off. Buy two vegetables or herbs and get one FREE, mix and match. If you mention the plant of the week at the register, you’ll receive 10% off of your entire purchase. For more discounts, follow them on Facebook.

Wasatch Contemporary Dance Here and Then
The Wasatch Contemporary Dance’s focus is to help all the talented adult dancers we see in Utah County who have few opportunities to enjoy their passion and continue their artistic growth past college. We also wish to share the beauty, emotion, and innovation of professional contemporary dance with the Utah County community. While Salt Lake County benefits from a rich arts community and healthy professional dance scene, Utah County is yet to enjoy the full benefits of professional dance. We have made leaps and bounds by forming strong relationships with both the BYU and UVU dance programs, earning competitive grants from the state of Utah and city of Orem, and establishing ourselves as first-class community teachers by offering high school workshops and adult technique classes. We put on two full-length professional performances each year and are stunning our audiences with innovative choreography, use of technology, and collaboration with local artists of all kinds. Although it has often been an uphill battle, we see our fans rallying behind us, and we treasure the hard-fought and well-deserved victories along the way.
Wasatch Contemporary Dance has an upcoming performance at Utah Valley University and we are excited to attend and support our local artists. Join us!

Star Lash Studio, Lash Extensions

Star Lash Studio lash extensions

Star Lash Studio is a premier beauty salon. Each and every technician is trained and certified in using products that are of high-quality.

I recently went to Jenny of Star Lash Studio to get my lashes done. Not only was she extremely friendly, she did a great job of my lashes. A typical appointment for the first set of lashes is 1 1/2 to 2 hours but because of time restraints, she finished in about an hour and 10 minutes and they still look fantastic!

Star Lash Studio lash extensions

When I first arrived to the Shops at South Town, I entered in Macy’s and the Star Lash Studio is just outside of Macy’s inside the mall on the west side. Once there, I filled out some paperwork, Jenny had my lay down on the bed, and she showed me options of lengths. I went with the 12 mm (because Jenny suggested them) and she began applying them.

At some point during the appointment, I started falling asleep. It was so nice to actually take time for myself because I am always so focused on taking care of the kids and running them around to practices, games, lessons, and friends’ homes.

Each lash extension is placed on individually so it is a long process but it looks amazing in the end.

I have had the lashes for about one week and have been surprised at how many people have commented on them. It has been nice to have long lashes all day long. It has made makeup application faster and when I get up and don’t do makeup before leaving the house, I don’t have to worry because my eyelashes already look great.

They have been low maintenance. I didn’t get them wet for the first 36-48 hours and have used oil-free cleaner for my face. One thing I did find out, however, is that while I am sleeping, I apparently pick at around my eyes to rid my eyes of any discharge coming out of them while I sleep which is bad because I tend to rub my eyes which will take off the extensions. After about a week though, I think I am doing it considerably less in my sleep.

If you are interested in getting your lashes done by Jenny, visit Star Lash Studio to learn more about the location and to schedule an appointment.
