All About Baby Expo, October 20

0

This Saturday, October 20 from 10 am until 9 pm, the Utah Valley Convention Center is hosting an All About Baby Expo – and it’s FREE!  There will be many booths, vendors, mini classes, and even a giveaway.  It will have some great info for you and your baby!

Here is the press release:

Provo, Utah – October 9, 2012 – On October 20th a new, semi-annual Expo comes to Utah County with the purpose of putting more focus on the care of babies. The All About Baby Expo has chosen a new home at the Utah Valley Convention Center to introduce their inaugural event which will return every six months in one of the highest birth-rate locations in the United States.

“Our mission is simple: to focus on these precious little ones through pregnancy, delivery, and the tender years of a new life. Attention to their physical, spiritual, and emotional health and happiness should be first and foremost,” explains event producer, Melynda Fanene.

Fanene and husband, John, welcomed their first child on August 12, 2011. Their son, known as Baby Rock, inspired their desire to share with other moms and dads what they wish they had known, being first-time parents.  “So much of what we learned came from the internet or talking with other parents. We’re still learning every day with each stage of his new life.  We just want to create an avenue for businesses and educational outlets to share and empower parents with options.”

The All About Baby Expo will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, 220 West Center Street in Provo.  The event is free to the public and will offer a full day of mini classes, activities, and vendors.

Classes include:
What I Wish I’d Known (Before And) When I Was Pregnant
What I Wish I’d Known During Labor And Delivery
What I Wish I’d Known The First Few Moments Through The First Year
Baby Signing Demo Class
Car Seat Safety
Baby Mattress Safety
Beauty Talk: Moms, Don’t Forget Mom
Story Time

Expecting moms can also register to win prizes as part of the All About Mom and Baby Shower promotion including the grand prize, two round-trip tickets on JetBlue Airways.  Current schedule updates as well as participating sponsors, vendors, and giveaways can be found online at AllAboutBabyExpo.com.  Booth themes include baby products, clothing, toys, health and wellness, education, birth options and more.

Businesses and organizations involved are required to support the mission of All About Baby.  “We want to offer a platform for these incredible businesses to present their products and services to moms and dads so they can provide the very best.  We encourage a healthy pregnancy, educated parents to make the right decisions for themselves and their babies, and products that are safe and beneficial.  With so many options out there, we want to place as many in one spot, in front of these new parents, to help save a little time and possibly give them an option they never considered.”  Because products and services in the industry are constantly changing, the All About Baby Expo is not only for brand new moms but anyone influencing a baby or young child. Organizers also want to make sure Dad knows he won’t be forgotten and will have prizes, vendors, and activities with him in mind as well. Though the event is free admission, attendees are encouraged to empty their ash trays and their pockets and donate Change4Change to help build care packages for babies in the local Neonatal Intensive Care Units.

Vendors and sponsors are highlighted weekly with social media updates and giveaways through the blog at AllAboutBabyExpo.blogspot.com and the event Facebook and Twitter pages: www.Facebook.com/AllaboutBabyExpo and www.Twitter.com/AllAboutBabyXpo.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Utah has the highest fertility rate in the country, and Utah County, the highest in the state.  The event will be held bi-annually in April and October in Provo, Utah. Event organizers plan to extend nationally in 2013.

Must Have Giveaways – Current & Upcoming Giveaways

0

As I have explained before, Must Have Giveaways is based on the idea of finding out about local companies.  There are so many large and small companies in Utah County alone that I have never heard of so this is a way for Facebookers to get to know these amazing companies.

Currently, MHG is sponsoring a giveaway to 1 or 2 lucky winners for Cafe Zupas gift cards.  It’s a referral campaign which means that if you enter, spread your code to your friends, and they enter with your referral code and win, you win too.  I love referral giveaways because my chances of winning just keep increasing as my friends enter with my code.  This giveaway will end on April 7, 2012 at 7 pm MST.

Next week, MHG will be sponsoring another giveaway to 1 lucky winner who will receive four Pass of All Passes.  I love these things.  They get you into so many fantastic Utah County and Salt Lake County activities.  They will be given away on Saturday, April 14 at 7 pm MST.

We also have a Boondocks gift card, a day pass to Seven Peaks or Trafalga, and a Cafe Rio gift card coming up.  So stay in touch and become a fan of Must Have Giveaways on Facebook or follow Must Have Giveaways’ blog for giveaway and winner announcements.  So far, most of our giveaways have had under 150 entries so the chances of winning, especially if you refer friends, are very high!

Must Have Giveaways

1

I’m a sucker for giveaways and love to enter them, sometimes whether I actually like and really want to win the giveaway or not.  I also wanted to really focus on featuring local companies this year.  So we’ve combined the two to create Must Have Giveaways.

Basically MHG will run like any other giveaway platform.  Local companies will be featured and will sponsor giveaways.  Each Sunday, we will also be spotlighting a local non-profit organization, which I’m really excited about.  There are so many great organizations out there doing incredible things and sometimes they don’t get the recognition they deserve.

As this whole thing is brand new, your odds of winning are very high compared to most others.  Plus there is a referral system set in place so if someone you referred wins, you win too!

So head over to Must Have Giveaways to enter.  Currently there is a $25 gift certificate to Olive Garden being given away which will end on March 29, 2012.

Finding Inexpensive Milk

0

My husband and I had never been big milk users until our daughter started drinking milk. Suddenly, we could go through a gallon of milk in a few days, whereas before, we were going through one half-gallon of milk in over one week. So I needed to find a solution to how much money we were spending on milk, as a gallon of milk seems to be about $2.49.

Costco is a good alternative. Sometimes I see some pretty good prices in stores as well. However, nothing beats finding clearance milk at Smith’s and using a coupon.

Coupons.com has a coupon for $0.75 off of one gallon of milk.  Also, about every other time I go to Smith’s, there is milk that is on clearance for $1.25.

I know what you’re thinking, “Milk on clearance?  Gross.”

But it’s not.  The milk we bought on January 17 has a date of January 25 which gives us one week to get through the gallon of milk before I’d start worrying about it.

Normally I pick up two gallons of milk that are $1.25 each plus use the coupon which means I’m spending $1.75 for two gallons of milk.  If that’s not a good steal for milk, I don’t know what is.
