Stephen Gashler Puppeteer and Storyteller

0

The Knight of the Cart Storyteller, comedian, and musician Stephen Gashler will be performing his hilarious rendition of the original story of Sir Lancelot by Chrétien de Troyes, 12th-century French poet. Flaming lances, sneaky dwarves, insanely hazardous bridges, castles inhabited by beautiful maidens — this story’s got it all. Be prepared to laugh till it hurts as you’re plunged into the wonderfully paradoxical worlds of chivalry and courtly love.

Review in Photos of Disney On Ice Presents Passport to Adventure

2

Last night, we had the opportunity to go to Disney On Ice Presents Passport to Adventure at EnergySolutions Arena.

We were late. We ended up being so late we missed an entire story! But that’s just how it goes when I let my husband schedule our day instead of doing it myself. And oddly enough, I was hardly stressed last night about how late we were. Luckily, my kids are young enough that missing 20 minutes really wasn’t a big deal.

The best part about this show is that Disney On Ice Presents Passport to Adventure takes us on an entire vacation to Africa, the sea, Hawaii, and NeverLand. It was fantastic and is so great how it encourages children to use their imaginations.

Enjoy these photos from last night and make sure you don’t miss it – this show will be in Salt Lake City until November 10!

Common Grass Phrases from Biograss Sod Farms

0

This post is sponsored by Biograss Sod Farms, however, all opinions are our own.

Biograss Sod Farms is a local company from Sandy (where I grew up!) and they have made a list of common grass phrases that grew from grass.  I use these terms all the time and have never actually thought about it much until now.

So take a moment, and enjoy these common phrases that exist all because of grass.  As we’ve only posted a few of these common sayings, make sure to stop by their page to see the rest of these sayings!

The grass is always greener on the other side.
Grassy knoll. While the theory of a second gunman on the grassy knoll may never be proven, the long-winded debate has left behind a simple idiom nonetheless. Yes, these two words, originating from the conspiracy theories that arose from the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963, are now synonyms for any kind of cover-up, conspiracy and/or suspicion.

It’s odd to me how many common phrases have to do with grass and yet I had never even noticed before!  Don’t miss all of the other common sayings on Biograss Sod Farms’ page.

Get Discounted Blurb Books for the Holidays

There are a lot of gifts you could give this holiday season, but when it comes to something really meaningful, there’s nothing quite like the gift of a book you’ve made yourself. But before you start having visions of gluing and sewing together pages, check out the Blurb Gift Center.

Blurb lets you make seriously beautiful books using their free tools. Just add photos and text, choose your options (like paper and cover type), and then order. Of course, you do have to decide just what kind of book you want to make. But relax, because they have put together the cool Blurb Gift Center to give you lots of ideas.

For instance, if you’ve got a genealogical bent, there’s the Blurb Family History Book.

For those with newborns (or those that know someone with a newborn), a Blurb Baby Book might be just the thing.

And if you’re the kind of person who keeps getting asked for copies of your recipes, think about making a Blurb Food Book.

This holiday season, make your gift recipients feel really special by making them something special. There really is a book for everyone.

The best part?  There’s two coupon codes you can use:

Save 20% when you spend $40 or more on print books at Blurb
When you use the coupon code: MORESAVINGS

Great Prices on School Supplies

0

Have you checked out Discount School Supplies yet?

I actually had not. I am so impressed with the amount of products they have on their website.

They have puzzles: This one, by the way, is on sale, as well as a lot of other ones, so if you hurry, you can get this at a great price!

They have highchairs:

They have books:

There are ride-on toys: This little truck is on clearance so it’s a good deal.

Anyway, you will just have to check all of this out for yourself. I cannot believe they have everything from actual school supplies to everything for kids, recess, and anything else kid-related! These products are great for schools or just for home! I know I’m planning to get a few things for our home for everyday play!

You can spread the joy of Christmas by giving to others in need, provided by the Utah County Sub for Santa. Head over to the Giving Tree and choose an ornament.  Each ornament represents a person and needs that they have.  These people usually live in some sort of care facility. After you check out an ornament simply return with unwrapped gifts to the Giving Tree by December 14, to ensure delivery before Christmas. Your simple gift can bring love and hope to someone in need. You can find the Giving Tree located next to Lodge Court near GAP.
