Saturday, June 7 is National Trails Day and Provo City, along with the Rock Canyon Preservation Alliance are hosting three events on June 7.

Look for plants, animals, and geological features during this self-guided family activity.  Check in at the trailhead pavilion to pick up the “I Spy” list and receive a fun prize upon completion.

Iceland Days 2014—June 20, 21, 22.

We will celebrate Iceland Days on June 20th, 21st and 22nd. There will be a lot of fun things planned for the Friday night workshops, and also a ton of fun things planned for Saturday’s events, which will be held at the Benjamin Park. Sunday we will close Iceland Days with a marvelous fireside.

6/6 We will be there from 6:00-10:00 with the Ice Queen and Frozen Princess. They are doing a Frozen Sing-Along at 9:15 (or when it gets dark).

Sneak Peak at the Redesigned Bean Museum at BYU

The Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum will be opening its doors again to the public on June 7, 2014. Admission is free to June 7th’s re-opening celebration and the open house festivities will include live animal shows, highlights of the museum’s research collections, hands-on activities for children and the chance to view the museum’s 25 new exhibits and displays. This open house will run from 10 am – 5 pm at 645 East 1430 North, Provo at the BYU Campus.

The new exhibits include Our Living Planet, Life on Top:  Apex Predators, Boyd K. Packer Gallery, Fred & Sue Morris Bird Gallery, Protect Your Planet, Whooo Lives Here?, and Life Submerged:  Marine and Freshwater.

Although the opening day will have some great family activities, you may also visit Monday-Friday from 10 am – 9 pm or Saturday 10 am – 5 pm.  Public Live Animal Shows are Mondays (6:30 pm, 7:30 pm), Tuesdays-Fridays (7:30 pm), and Saturdays (1:00 pm, 3:00 pm).  For more information about the Bean Museum, visit mlbean.byu.edu.

Utah Lake Festival 2014

This year’s Utah Lake Festival will be held on Saturday, June 7 at the Utah Lake State Park from 10 am – 2 pm.   The Utah Lake State Park is located at 4400 W. Center Street, Provo.

This is a free family event including a boat show, games and activities, and boat tours.  Those who attend will receive a “Utah Lake Festival Passport” which will be used to collect stamps from educational and activity booths.  Once attendees get all of the required stamps, they will receive a prize!
