The Empress Theater, Magna UT
Utah Valley Moms
The Empress Theater is a small community theater in Magna, UT. During the year they will have a series of shows with the current production being Kiss Me, Kate an endearing tale of love and loss that somewhat draws from Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew. This tongue-in-cheek musical comedy was overall a fun ride. It was obvious that all those involved had donated much their time and passion for theater into this production.
Due to the limited funds of the Empress Theater, their sound equipment did cut out from time to time detracting from the actors, their talents, and the story overall. Even considering the audio mishaps, the production is a definite must-see for community theater enthusiasts. For those wishing to contribute to community theater and enhancing the quality of their productions, you are invited to make a donation to the theater on March 20. They hope to raise $10,000.
For those of you in Utah Valley who are reading this and are thinking this is too far of a drive to drive out to Magna, I personally have been out to Magna a few times recently and it’s a shorter drive for me than to to drive to the zoo. If you love theater, this is definitely worth a try!
