At our mission is to provide a helping hand during feeding time.
We believe that contact and touch between an infant and parent is essential to thrive.
While many debate on the best way to feed an infant, exists as a choice that allows a free hand when necessary.

About Us

Many great inventions are inspired by necessity. Such is the case with the . Kate Somerville was a young , single mother
of a 6-month old baby boy. On a daily basis her life revolves around the hardships of raising a child on her own;
meanwhile she is passionate about pursuing a career in nursing. She was recently accepted into a renowned
Nursing College. Kate knew this would challenge her to balance her time with the baby, but she saw this as
a long-term investment towards her and her baby’s future.
She encountered many frustrations being a single, hard-working mother and sometimes just wished for an extra hand.
One day after her Human Anatomy class, Kate was trying to feed her baby boy while attempting to write a research paper.
This is when she came up with the idea of the .
The allowed Kate to feed her baby boy and simultaneously write her research paper. She was even able to
feed her baby while making dinner for herself. Kate felt accomplished and at ease once she had the in her life.
Kate and her baby girl couldn’t be any happier!
These super cute helping hands come in 4 colors online. Pink, Blue, Turquoise and Magenta. Each cost $18.99 a piece. These are so soft and are a nice cusiony pillow.
So many questions are probably running through your head. They answer a bunch of them on their site like:
Frequently Asked Questions

Does the latch onto the baby’s neck? How exactly does it work?
The gently rests on the shoulders of the baby, making it very easy for the baby
to push off when they finish eating.

Does the elastic bottle strap support all bottle types and sizes?
Yes, the elastic is stretchy enough to allow any size bottle to fit in.

How do you wash the ?
Wash separately. No bleach. Machine wash cold, delicate cycle. Tumble dry low. Do not iron.
Can the baby be lying down while using the ?
No, the baby must be sitting in an upright position.

What kind of material is the made out of?
is 100% polyester, consisting of polyester fiber and filling.

Will the BABABIB apply pressure on the baby’s chest or neck?
Not at all. It is made out of an extremely light materials (toy animal stuffing), and rests gently on the baby.
Danelle wasn’t to sure about this at first. She got used to it really quick. It was nice for me to be able to hold her and yet still help the other kids with homeworks or read them books. I have always said as a mom we should have been given a new hand for each child. This sort of helped with that. I hate feeding her in the carseat. I think that shows lack of closeness. This product has helped in those times when I couldnt pull over to the side of the road and feed her. I was able to put this on her and still drive. Made for a more pleasant drive for the both of us. The material is very easy to clean. You can wash with a rag for the light drips or if your little one has reflux like Danelle you can throw this in the washer. I love this product! I still don’t use this all the time, but in those very busy moments I’m thankful to have it.

Skoy Cloth Giveaway

0

Our Story
Our story is quite simple. We had a desire to share a cloth that is better than any cloth we have ever used and was environmentally friendly. We started to do a little research and were shocked to see how people were cleaning their kitchens. We were even more shocked to find out how many tons of paper towels were being used annually (2.5 million tons) and filling up our landfills.
We are two stay-at-home moms living in Encinitas, California. Our children have begun Elementary school and we have a little extra time. We decided that this would be the perfect time to start our business.
We have been working and researching for almost a year on our product. We have such passion for this cloth because we believe that it is the best thing out there.
‘The idea originated when Michelle was living in Europe in the late 90’s. She discovered a product that was similar to the SKOY cloth and it was just amazing. Over time she found the cloth to be indispensable. When she moved back to the US, she realized that the use of a sponge was inadequate and the excessive use of paper towels, wasteful. Michelle searched and searched for a similar cloth and nothing even compared; nothing was of the same caliber. This is when Michelle introduced the cloth to Karen. She immediately fell in love with it and could not imagine cleaning with anything else.’
We then put our heads together and discussed a way to bring this product to the US with the requirement that it meet our high standard. Now we are so excited to be able to offer the SKOY cloth to you—which is everything that we had hoped it would be.
How we got our name
Looking for a name proved challenging. After looking for a long time, we found a word that is the philosophy of our business. Skoj (pronounced Skoy) is a Swedish word that means: “just for fun”! What a perfect word for our business. In other words, we wanted a business that we could have fun doing and at the same time would bring fun to the kitchen. With really cool designs we think we have accomplished this, while still doing our part to take care of the Earth.
About our factory
Our factory is aware of the responsibility for handling its resources carefully. We use renewable raw materials such as cellulose (derived from wood), and cotton to produce our SKOY cloths. Our factory has invested heavily in developing and implementing an integrated environmental recycling and disposal facility in which the economical use of energy and water is first and foremost. Production by-products are purified and recycled as far as possible within the process. Regeneration baths are returned to production by an evaporation process. Wastewater is treated at the site’s biological wastewater purification plants. This environmental concept is at the vanguard of operations-related environmental policy and has resulted in our factory becoming a reference company throughout the industry.

These clothes come to you in a 4 pk. They are really stiff and made me nervous that they were gonna stay that way even when wet. They softened up really well.
70% Wood / 30% Cotton
Multi-use cloth
Made of cotton and cellulose
A single skoy cloth will replace up to 15 rolls of paper towels
Perfect for use in the kitchen, bathroom and office; can be used on most surface areas in your home
I was grateful to hear that each one replaces 15 rolls of paper towels. Do you know how much paper towels cost? Paper towels cost around $1.50 each roll. If you do the math that is a savings of around $83 per 4 pk. These cost about $7 for the 4pk. These are much better for the enviroment. Plus with a family of 8, I love not having soo much trash! These are great for all kinds of cleaning. Also washing is so easy. You will love these. Go green!
I also wanted to mention that they we have a new fundraising program for schools. You can find out more information on our website under the fundraising tab.
Also – Skoy is available in all The Container Store locations and select Cost Plus World Market locations too

CarePackMom.com Review

0

CarePackMom delivered a package to my door two days ago. It was so fun to first, receive a package, and second, to receive something from a friendly face. When we opened the door, we were greeted by a friendly face and she was so sweet. Her name is Lauri and she is the founder of CarePackMom.com.

Lauri held a cute little white bag with our goodies inside. She was friendly, sweet, and it was almost as if my mom was at my door, handing me a gift.

CarePackMom delivers care packages by hand, every single time. Lauri understands what it is like to have children across the country and knows how stressful it can be to not be near them to take care of them. CarePackMom delivers to the Provo MTC, as well as any front door in Utah Valley!

I strongly recommend CarePackMom for all of your care package needs.  They have such a large variety of package options for holidays and other times throughout the year when you may want to let your special someone know that they are loved.

Read a Book, Get a Slurpee

0

The 7-Eleven in Provo, located at 300 S. Freedom Boulevard, is offering free Slurpees when kids read books.

There are many books at that 7-Eleven but they are not for sale. Instead, they are for checking out, just like at the library, and when a child returns it, they receive a Slurpee or a balloon. Thanks to United Way, there are a lot of books there that children can read which has made this all possible!

I am so happy about this! I think with how technology is improving and spreading, there is less time reading an actual book and more time staring at a screen. I admit, I’m guilty of this. I truly hope this new program will spread like wild fire and that everyone in the area will take advantage of this program!
