Update: Brick Canvas has gone through some name changes. They are as follows:
Brick Canvas (sub name is “Discover Wellness” formerly “at Thanksgiving Point”)
Brick Canvas Spa (formerly Sage Leaf Spa)
Brick Canvas Cafe (formerly Cafe Fraiche)
Brick Canvas Fitness (formerly Bikram Yoga at Brick Canvas)
Brick Canvas AVEDA (is the new salon name)
Brick Canvas Venue (formerly The Loft)
Brick Canvas at Thanksgiving Point is a newer facility at Thanksgiving Point. It is tucked away on the west side and is in a beautiful building. Shelli Gardner wanted a place with all of her favorite things so in October 2012, Brick Canvas was opened. It includes a spa, a salon, Lyceum, Bikram Yoga, and a cafe.
Follow UCM over the next few weeks as I explore their services and offer a more in-depth review of what goes on at each place. However, for now, here is a little bit about each studio and service:
Sage Leaf Spa: OUR REVIEW – Here, the goal is is to offer revitalizing spa services that uplift the mind and senses. They also want to help melt away stress and tension, as well as, alleviate joint pain and relax overused muscles. At Sage Leaf Spa, they offer many different services. I am most looking forward to the Vichy Shower which apparently provides a lot of relaxation. Sage Leaf Spa also offers couple massages (or bring a friend) and aims to offer the ultimate relaxation experience beginning from the moment you walk in the door.
Vivesque: OUR REVIEW – At Vivesque, from the moment you walk in, you will be treated like royalty. They offer drinks and gourmet snacks, complimentary scalp and hand massages, full salon hair services, and manicures and pedicures. They also offer some of the most competitive pricing for this area so you can get the best treatment at an affordable price. By the way, there is a grand piano in their studio. The whole place is absolutely gorgeous.
Lyceum: OUR REVIEW – Lyceum trains strength, movement and endurance. It defines movement as the intersection between balance, coordination, flexibility, stability and mobility. Lyceum uses equipment that allows us to train standing up which in turn helps us to perfect the movement patterns needed to achieve optimal physical performance. This is defined as functional training. What I enjoy most about this type of training is that it uses no machines and offers no guarantees. The people at Lyceum believe that success is completely up to you – the work you put into it is the achievement that you will get out of it.
Bikram Yoga: OUR REVIEW – This is a different type of yoga – 26 Bikram poses during a 90-minute class, and each pose is repeated twice. Each class is done in a room that is 105 degrees Fahrenheit with 40 percent humidity. The key to not passing out? Hydrate well the day before and before class. I enjoy that it is designed to help heal injuries, improve circulation, increase endurance, and burns about 1250 calories per class!
Fraíche: Fraiche at Brick Canvas serves a variety of quick and delicious fare. From fruit smoothies and granola snacks to tasty sandwiches and soups, the menu features fresh and healthy options that are sure to please. Start the day with a nourishing breakfast, grab a snack on the run, or sit and enjoy a leisurely lunch on the beautiful patio. I have already tried the Love Bomb smoothie and it was probably the most delicious smoothie I have ever tasted.
Giveaway: Brick Canvas is offering one person one 30-minute massage and one month free of either Lyceum or Bikram Yoga. The winner may upgrade their massage and just pay the difference.
For those who do not win, we would like you to offer a unique discount to everything at Brick Canvas! During your first visit to Brick Canvas you will receive a 30% discount on anything you purchase. This special discount will be good for any products or services purchased that day in any studio. However, this offer only extends until the end of October.
