I am always impressed when I find people who, although they are not in the best circumstance/situation currently, are trying to make a better life for themselves. I strongly believe that if you work hard enough, you will be blessed for it.
A couple of weeks ago, two kids (who looked like they were in their teens) showed up on our doorstep. They were selling cookie dough. First of all, my husband loves a good chocolate chip cookie and second, we love to support those who are making an effort so when they asked us if we wanted to buy any cookie dough, it was an obvious answer … yes! We made the cookies that night and they were the most delicious cookies we had ever bought from anyone – they were nice and soft just like I like them. My husband prefers crunchy cookies but was impressed with these, nonetheless.
This family-owned business started when the father lost his job about a year and a half ago. To make ends meet and help a son on a mission, they started making this cookie dough and selling it. Money earned continues to go towards the mission and helps them stay self-sufficient.
The dough is made with real eggs and butter and trust me, it tastes like they are straight out of Grandma’s kitchen.
They have a food handler’s permit, and have gone through the Department of Agriculture and the State so everything is legal. Batches are made at Parley’s Hardware in their commercial kitchen.
Their main product is chocolate chip cookie dough, however, special orders can be taken and they will make a custom batch just for you!
