I have only heard about the Spartan Race up in Midway, which will be on June 28, 2014, but I have done some more research into it and am really excited about it!
First, on the website, it mentions that it is for all athletes. Most of you probably don’t know, but I got sick back in September, soon after I received a great membership to exercise but was not able to use much of it. I was sick for the next two months until I finally got the flu which completely wiped me out for days. Right before the flu, I fractured my rib and couldn’t cough without crying. I couldn’t exercise like I wanted to for another two months. I finally was completely better, exercised for a couple of great weeks, and then hurt my back quite badly by shoveling and playing in the snow. So, least to say, I am quite out of shape and am excited that I might be able to complete this (with some training and adjusting my body back to exercising)!
Second, these Spartan Races are all over the world! However, the Arizona and Las Vegas races are coming soon – wouldn’t it be so great to be able to head down to warmer weather and participate in these races? The Arizona Spartan Race is February 8-9 and the Las Vegas Spartan Race is April 4-5.
Third, this race is so unique because it is an obstacle race. There are varying levels and different obstacles, apparently, within the actual race which is great so it really is for everyone!
