Utah County Museums list

This week the Utah Valley Moms blog is featuring things to do over Spring Break in Utah with kids. Today we’re taking a look at museums in Utah County. Below is a list of Utah County Museums.

BYU Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum:  located at BYU in Provo. It features life-like exhibits and homes of malls, birds, fish, reptiles, and insects.

BYU Museum of Art:  located at BYU in Provo. Enjoy art exhibits, events, and a cafe.

BYU Museum of Peoples and Cultures:  located BYU in Provo. It features archaeology and ethnology with a wide variety of collections containing over a million objects.

BYU Museum of Paleontology:  located at BYU in Provo. Displays and collections of rock and dinosaur fossils.

Museum of Natural Curiosity:  located at Thanksgiving Point, Lehi. Enjoy family-fun experiences for curious minds.

Museum of Ancient Life:  located at Thanksgiving Point, Lehi. Roam among dinosaurs, forests, and ocean with pre-historic animals.

Springville Museum of Art:  (126 E. 400 S.) exhibits and family-centered events and programs.

Woodbury Art Museum:  located at University Place, Orem. Visit exhibits of UVU artists.

Alpine Art Center:  located in Alpine (450 Alpine Hwy). State-of-the-art foundry with metal-cast art works in process, as well as galleries with sculpture, paintings, and watercolor works. There is an outdoor sculpture park.

John Hutchings Museum of Natural History:  located in Lehi (55 N. Center Street). Exhibits include pioneer, undersea life from Puerto Rico and Pacific, Indian artifacts, minerals, birds and eggs, fossils, Vietnam and South Sea Islands.

Peteetneet Museum and Cultural Arts Center:  located in Payson (10 S. 600 E.). Exhibits include pioneer exhibits and artifacts, a DUP Museum, the Payson Historical Society exhibits, a Freedom Room exhibit, History of Writing Exhibit, a Western Room, an early pioneer blacksmith shop, a 150 year exhibit of historical clothing, as well as an art gallery with rotating exhibits. We also have a permanent art collection of paintings and sculptures.
