It’s that time of year again when hundreds of women head to Provo for BYU’s annual Education Week. The following press release will explain what it is, when it is, and how you can be involved.
Annual BYU Campus Education Week to run August 18–22

PROVO, Utah
BYU’s Campus Education Week, one of the largest continuing education programs in the country, will be held August 18–22, 2014, at the university’s campus in Provo, Utah. Based on the theme, “Seek Learning, Even by Study and Also by Faith” (Doctrine and Covenants 88:118), Education Week will feature more than 1,000 classes taught by more than 200 presenters, teaching on a wide variety of topics. The Tuesday Devotional address will be given by Elder David A. Bednar, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

“We are confident that those who attend the program, which is designed for both women and men, single or married and youth ages 14 and older, will benefit from the resources and atmosphere of Brigham Young University,” said H. Bruce Payne, Campus Education Week program administrator. “Attendees will have a rewarding, uplifting and motivating experience attending classes taught by skilled presenters on a great variety of subjects from gospel principles to the arts, family and marriage relationships to finance, self-improvement, technology and more.”
Classes
Campus Education Week classes are taught by faculty from Brigham Young University, instructors from Seminaries and Institutes of Religion of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and other experts in their field. The week will feature classes that address topics such as education, family and marriage relations, finance, health, religion and self-improvement.
Devotional
A highlight of the program is the campus Devotional on Tuesday morning. This year, Elder David A. Bednar, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will be the featured speaker at the Devotional on Tuesday, August 19, at 11:10 a.m., in the Marriott Center. The devotional is free and open to the public. The devotional will be broadcast live on BYUTV, and archived on BYUtv.org and speeches.byu.edu.
Classes and Activities for Youth
During the week, more than 80 classes are offered specifically for youth ages 14-18. On Thursday evening, teens participating in Education Week can attend a youth dance (admission: $5, paid in advance).

Continuing Legal Education Credit
Several classes in the Education Week schedule are eligible for continuing legal education credit. While primarily designed for attorneys, any registered participant may attend. In addition to the Campus Education Week tuition, attorneys seeking Continuing Legal Education credit are required to pay a $35 fee for the week. Participants should check with their respective state bars for verification that the classes will be accepted as CLE credit.
Evening Performances
Spend Education Week evenings with the arts. Each night, from Tuesday through Friday, three different productions will be presented at the Harris Fine Arts Center at BYU.
Tickets are $12 for each performance and are on sale now at the BYU Ticket Office at 801-422-2981 or online at byutickets.com. Registration for Education Week is not required to purchase tickets for these performances.
• Seven Brides for Seven Brothers – “Goin’ courtin” has never been as much fun as in this rip-roaring stage version of the popular MGM movie. Set in the Oregon wilderness in the 1850s, Seven Brides tells the story of Millie, a young bride who plans to civilize and marry off her six rowdy brothers-in-law to ensure the success of her own marriage. Bursting with rambunctious energy and some of the best dancing scenes in musical theatre, Seven Brides is a fun romance that will take you back to the glory days of the movie musical.
• An Evening of Music and Inspiration – Be entertained and inspired with a concert featuring favorite LDS performing artists including Peter Breinholt, Cherie Call, Daniel Beck, Jessie Clark Funk and Sam Payne. Relax and enjoy the beautiful vocals and amazing instrumentals of this talented ensemble.
• William Joseph in Concert – Captivating pianist and composer William Joseph is known for the passion and virtuosity of his performances. In 2003, collaboration with music icon David Foster fueled William’s promising career and resulted in his first two albums, Beyond and Within, on the Warner Bros. label. William’s brilliance has led to tours with well-known stars Josh Groben and Il Divo and opened the door for special appearances with world-class artists such as John Mayer, Natalie Cole, Barbra Streisand, Kenny G, Alecia Keys, Beyoncé and Michael Bublé.
