In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, September 13 – 15, 2013, Cardio Barre Quarry Bend will be donating 50% of all proceeds to a little girl in need.

Brylee (Bree) is a vivacious three year old. She has an older brother and a younger sister. On March 6, 2013, she was diagnosed with a tumor on her brain stem called a DIPG. On August 21, 2013, an MRI showed tumor progression and her doctors said she will most likely not make it to Christmas. We have put together a bucket list for her with the hopes that she will enjoy and look forward to her remaining time with us. The bucket list is as follows: feed the elephants, go sledding, ride the polar express, go to the circus, go to Yellowstone, go to Thanksgiving Point, go to Disney on Ice, put her hand print in our driveway, prom/princess ball, and have an Alice in Wonderland tea party.

Cardio Barre Quarry Bend has created an event page for their fundraiser.

On a personal note, I have a three-year old. She is energetic, bossy, emotional, and very much alive. I have read through the blog for Brylee, and I can’t imagine being her parent or being in their situation. My heart hurts for the family and in fact, I can’t even think or talk about the story without crying. The bills for her treatments are extremely large and her family (and friends, neighbors, strangers) want to give her the best last months to years of her life that she could possibly have … at three years old. But obviously, we are hoping for the 5% chance that she will survive another 3-4 years and the rare chance of complete survival.

So that is why it is so important to me to encourage you to help how you can and possibly participate in Cardio Barre Quarry Bend’s fundraiser.
