The grass is always greener on the other side.
Grassy knoll. While the theory of a second gunman on the grassy knoll may never be proven, the long-winded debate has left behind a simple idiom nonetheless. Yes, these two words, originating from the conspiracy theories that arose from the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963, are now synonyms for any kind of cover-up, conspiracy and/or suspicion.
