Body Worlds & The Cycle of Life will be on display at The Leonardo in Salt Lake City until March 8, 2015.
This exhibit actually holds a special place in my heart. Back in 2007, my husband, then boyfriend, proposed to me shortly after going to the Body Worlds exhibit that was on display at The Leonardo. Unfortunately, Body Worlds also reminds me of how many anatomy exams I failed but that’s beside the point.

BODY WORLDS & The Cycle of Life is the latest exhibition from physician and pioneering anatomist Dr. Gunther von Hagens. As we age, we experience the body in different ways. At each stage of life, we seek new answers. This exhibit celebrates the wonders of the body in childhood, adulthood and across the arc of aging. More than 200 plastinates—real human specimens preserved through Dr. von Hagens’ invention, the remarkable process of Plastination—reveal the human body in all its stages and in all its conditions, from health to distress to disease.
At this exhibit guests get an up-close and personal viewing of what the human body actually looks like under all of that skin and hair. We took my children and they were fascinated by the heart, the muscles, the bones, and the lungs.
The Leonardo recommends giving yourself about 60-90 minutes to view the exhibit. My family and I walked through in about 20 minutes which left plenty of time for us to view some of the activities that are also in the museum.
