Helping Hands Milk Bank (Helping Hands) is a virtual milk bank that allows qualified donors to make breast milk donations from the comfort of their home. Prolacta Bioscience® collects excess breast milk from mothers who donate through Helping Hands and processes it into the first and only commercially available breast milk fortifier made from 100% human milk (rather than cow milk) for critically ill, premature infants in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). Additionally, Prolacta donates one dollar to Susan G. Komen® for every ounce of qualified breast milk collected through Helping Hands.
You can find a lot more information on this at the Helping Hands website: http://www.
The Helping Hands Milk Bank community is seeking stories from mothers who have donated their breast milk through Helping Hands Milk bank, and parents of preemies who have benefited from Prolacta’s human milk products made from donated breast milk.
To show appreciation, Helping Hands will send out a free goody bag to each participant who submits a story. The goody bag will contain Bambooies nursing pads and other fun prizes and tips.
Additionally, Prolacta and Helping Hands Milk Bank will make a $5 donation toward the fight against breast cancer for eachsubmission.
To submit a story of 300-600 words, visit: http://www.
This is a great way to contribute to a good cause without spending a dime!
Thanks for sharing this Kim! It’s such a great cause – those tiny babies need all the help they can get.
Thanks for sharing this! I’ve never heard of milk donation before and it seems like such a great idea.
