On Saturday, October 29, 2011, from 12 – 8 pm, the Central Utah Gardens is holding their annual Pumpkin Carving Contest and Pumpkin Walk. Dress in costume and receive a free donut.
Pumpkin Carving Contest Rules (Rules have changed since last year; read carefully)
How to Enter: Pumpkin artists will enter their pumpkin into one of two age categories: Junior (age 12 and under) and Adult (13 and up). Pumpkin entries are due by 6 p.m. on Friday, October 28th. Pumpkins must be brought to the gardens at 355 West University Parkway in Orem (east of Krispy Kreme). An entry form must be filled out.
Pumpkins will be judged the evening of Friday, October 28th. All pumpkin entries including prize winners will be on display at our Pumpkin Walk which takes place the next day, Saturday, October 29th from noon to 8 p.m.
Prizes
Junior: 1st place–$50, 2nd place–$25, 3rd place–gift certificate
Adult: 1st place–$100, 2nd place–$75, 3rd place–$50
Number of Entries: Each person may enter one carved pumpkin.
Return of Pumpkins: Pumpkins can be picked up by their owners immediately after the pumpkin walk on Saturday night (October 29th) or Monday, October 31 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Judging: Pumpkins will be assigned a number that corresponds with the entry form so judges will not know the identity of the artist. After winners and runners-up are selected, each pumpkin will be displayed with the name, age category, and city from the entry form in the gardens for the Pumpkin Walk.
