On Saturday, November 15th the Youth City Council will host the first ever Cedar Hillbilly Day at Heritage Park From 1 pm-4 pm. The afternoon will be filled with hillbilly fun for the whole family, including square dancing to a live fiddle band, sack races, horse-drawn wagon rides from 2:00-3:00, tug of war, horseshoes, costume contests, BIGGEST vegetable contest, fresh baked pies, and a Hillbilly chili cook-off. Cost for Hillbilly Day is $5 per family + 1 can of food per person. Proceeds of this event will go toward Santa’s Workshop, a Youth City Council sponsored program to help families in our community at Christmas time. Canned food will be donated to the Food and Care Coalition of Utah.

*If you think your chili is the best darn chili in this neck of the woods, enter it that day at the registration booth and let our City Council members decide.

*Bring your overgrown produce and enter our Biggest Vegetable contest for the chance to win a homemade pie!

*CALL FOR FARMER’S MARKET VENDORS: If you are interested in settin’ up shop during Hillbilly Day, please give Rec Coordinator, Nicole Allen, a holler at 801-785-9668 ext. 302. No business licensing fee, just provide yer tax i.d.!

SANTA’S WORKSHOP

There’s nothing better than the feeling you get after helping someone in need. This holiday season, please donate to our sixth annual Santa’s Workshop. We will be accepting donations of either money or gift cards (Walmart, Visa, etc.) which will be used to purchase new presents for struggling families in our community. Donations should be taken to the City Office building by December 6th.

*Cash or gift card donations for Santa’s Workshop can be given at the Hillbilly Day entrance.
