American Fork Steel Days this year are from July 6-10.  Although those are the official days, there are a couple of fun things happening on July 5 as well.

Tuesday, July 5:

  • Swimming, all day, free
  • Soap Box Derby, 6:30 pm, just west of the American Fork Fitness Center, free to watch
  • Symphony, 7:00 pm, American Fork Amphitheater at Quail Cove (851 E. 700 N.), free

Wednesday, July 6:

  • Band Showcase, 7:00-10:00 pm, American Fork Ampitheater, local bands will be preforming and food vendors will be in the north parking lot, free

Thursday, July 7:

  • Baby Contest, times vary, Rotary Park (400 S. 200 E.)
  • Carnival, 12:00-10:30 pm, Robinson Park (100 E. Main Street), pre-sale tickets ($1.00 per ticket) will not be sold after 5:00 pm on July 6
  • Geo-Cache, first coordinates: N 40 22.419 W 111 47.143, free
  • Art Show, 10:00 am-8:00 pm, American Fork Library (64 S. 100 E.), free
  • Quilt Show, 10:00 am-7:00 pm, Senior Center (54 E. Main Center), free

Friday, July 8:

  • Quilt Show, 10:00 am-7:00 pm
  • Children’s Parade, 5:00 pm (line-up), begins at American Fork High School and will travel north to Art Dye Park, prizes, popsicles for all participants
  • Craft Boutique, 4:00-9:00 pm, American Fork Amphitheater at Quail Cove
  • Picnic in the Park, 6:00 pm, American Fork Amphitheater, outdoor movie at dusk, children’s games, free

Saturday, July 9:

  • AFHS Marching Band Breakfast, 6:30 am-9:30 am, Fresh Market Parking Lot (100 E. Main St.), breakfast includes pancakes, hash browns, eggs, ham, and a drink. Band members will be selling tickets in advance, with 100% profit going to support that student. Tickets will also be available on the morning of the breakfast.  Adult (12 and over) $5.00, Child (3-11) $2.50, Toddler (0-2) free
  • 5K/Kids Run, 7:00 am for 5K, 8:30 am for Kids Run, 96 N. Center St, Registration forms are available on the Steel Days website, City Administration Office, and Fleet Feet.  5k Run/Walk: Preregistration-$15.00 with T-Shirt – $10.00 without T-Shirt * Day of race $20.00, Kids Run: $10.00 with T-Shirt
  • Grand Parade, 9:30 am, begins at Main Street and ends at 400 N
  • Car Show, 11:00 am-7:00 pm, Rotary Park (400 S. 200 E.), free
  • Car Cruise, 7:00 pm-9:00 pm, Main Street
  • Chamber Steak Fry, 5:30 pm-6:30 pm, Evergreen Park (700 E. 150 N.), steak dinner $12.00, kids hot dog $2.50, with baked potato, salad, roll, drink, and dessert
  • Big Show & Fireworks, gates open at 6:00 pm, begins at 7:30 pm, American Fork High School (510 N. 600 E.), Kansas in Concert accompanied by American Fork Symphony, tickets can be purchased at SmithTix or City Administration Building – $16.01 (w/tax) for adults, $10.68 (w/tax) for kids 9-16, free for kids 8 and under
